The season after meeting and becoming hunting partners, Kevin and Derek began to play around with the idea of making video memories in the field. After realizing the pleasure and excitement of being able to re-live their hunting experiences, they wondered if others would enjoy following along on their adventures as well. The two hoped to show what the everyday person, who had limited hunting time and opportunity, could accomplish. All of their hunts take place on unproven and self-scouted grounds with no animals being bought and paid for. The Slinger team has made it a point to continue taking realistic shots at everyday trophies. They felt a video of this style and substance was all but absent in the hunting video world, further driving them to accomplish their goals. After three years of filming and learning through mistakes while filming and hunting, the Slinger team has captured what they feel to be exciting and heart pounding real life footage that the general public has been waiting for. If you are tired of watching high fence guided hunts with constant, once in a life time animals being on taken on film, you will love Slinger's first release this Fall!

Kevin Frazer, 22, was born in Helena, MT. His family moved to Billings two years later where he was raised in a family who had a great love and passion for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing occupied all of his free time during his adolescence. In high school he began working in the sporting goods industry hoping to learn even more about the great sport that had become such a major part of his life. At age 18 Kevin moved to Bozeman, MT to further his education and continued to work in the industry. Kevin currently works full time as a bow technician at a local sporting goods store and loves it.

Derek Mellum, 29, was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. He was introduced to the outdoors at a very young age by his father. From the time he was 5 years old, he was a member of the hunting party, getting to tag along on waterfowl and whitetail hunts as well as beginning his archery career in youth shoots. As soon as he was of legal age, he spent every free moment in the outdoors attempting to perfect his hunting skills and techniques. At the age of 20 he moved to Bozeman, MT, with the promise of far greater hunting opportunities. Four years later he met Kevin Frazer and they began to hunt together. Derek also work at a local hunting and outdoors store. |
